another little act of artiness

 This was a perfect-sized leather cross-body bag I found while thrifting. The only think I wasn't thrilled with was the embossed logo. So I thought I'd bust out some embroidery floss. My first attempt was a fail- it looked like a candy corn and I started at the base of the triangle so it meant I had no room at the top to finish well. The second try turned out much better (though the top of the triangle still gave me problems).

Pinterest project #5

I have officially done 5 projects on my "to do" pinterest board. My mom and I found these agate bookends at a garage sale and I gold leafed the outside. BAM! Here's the image that I was inspired by:

Random acts of artiness

I added this snazzy custom paint job to Juni's ukulele months ago (as seen by the "well-loved-patina" which has occurred even though i did spray it with a clear coat). Nonetheless she loves it, I love it, and her fellow bandmates at band practice love it.

new year clean up

Well, the studio is picked up, my living room is painted, and I finally did one of my "to do" pins on pinterest- The pic above the couch is a $7 blueprint copy mounted on foam board = cheap large-scale art! Also- it's one of my favorite pics- hubs and i were backpacking in the Badlands and woke up surrounded by bison. Then about 100 bison proceeded to stampede around our tent!

 It's a fine start to 2013- maybe i'll make some art goals for the year (seems like the thing to do).

new life, new shop

I'd like to introduce you to the newest, most amazing thing I've ever created- this is Juniper- she's almost one month old.

Less exciting (but nonetheless noteworthy) is that Ive opened up a second etsy shop for non chipmunk cheeks prints and originals. I've got my hands full with little Juni, but will slowly be adding more items over the coming months.
